notes	若羌县位于新疆塔里木盆地东南部，东于青海接界，总面积20.23万平方公里，是全国行政面积最大的县。若羌县城海拔890米，位于阿尔金山北麓的冲积扇绿洲平原上，北部是塔克拉玛干大沙漠和库姆塔格沙漠以及夹在两大沙漠之间的塔里木河下游绿色走廊。县城年平均温度11.5℃，1月平均气温—9.4℃，7月平均气温27.4℃，年平均降水量28.5mm，年平均蒸发量2920.２mm，极度干旱。最多风向为NE、E（通常新疆多西北风）。冬季若羌气候比较温暖，但非常干旱，地面没有积雪和流动的水，只有在个别渠道里和城边的若羌河里有少量的冰。县城周边农田和果园的防护林很多是沙枣树，越冬鸟的食物很是充足。这里冬季鸟的种类和数量都不是很多，可能和缺乏不冻水域的饮水点有直接的关系。县城里没有茂密的树林和大树，鸟也甚少。若羌严重缺水，只有17万亩耕地，现在已经种植了15万亩红枣，小麦、棉花等农作物，多套种在红枣林里。2009年若羌人均收入1.1万元余元，据称位居西部五省之首，主要得益于当年的红枣丰产丰收。县城附近最好的鸟点是距离县城两三公里的东河滩边的一个红枣园。红枣园的四周种了一圈稠密的沙枣树，榆树和胡杨。沙枣果实累累，为越冬鸟类提供了丰富的食物，树下灌丛密不透光，为山鹛等喜欢隐蔽的鸟提供了藏身之处。若羌县城东河坝鸟点39°2'5.01"北88°12'20.01"东
